Simon Amstell (pictured) and Miquita Oliver are to leave popular Channel 4 pop music show Popworld, after providing often-funny links from one flash-in-the-pan to the next for the past five years.
The duo will depart in April, Oliver to explore other Channel 4/T4 presenting roles and Amstell to develop his stand-up comedy further and take on other presenting jobs.
Oliver, who started working on Popworld at only 16, said: "For me it's a bit like leaving school. I'm so proud of everything Simon and I have done."
New presenters will be announced in the Spring. Commissioning editor Neil McCallum said:
"Looking ahead they (Simon and Miquita) will be a hard act to follow but I know that the new look show in its Saturday slot will go from strength to strength."
DiS editor Colin Roberts once asked Mr Amstell to marry him, while I offered Miss Oliver a chip at Reading Festival a few years ago. Both, sadly, declined their respective proposals.
