Kylie, Jason, Stefan Dennis... many have parted company with Aussie soap Neighbours to pursue a career in pop, and not all with any great success. The latest to place their head on the block is Natalie Bassingthwaighte, better known to students countrywide as Ramsay Street's resident drug-muncher, Izzy.
Bassingthwaighte is to head to Britian with Australian DJ ensemble Rogue Traders once her time on the soap is up. The parties have collaborated on a new single, 'Voodoo Child', which has been picked up by Pete Tong for Radio 1, no less.
Bassingthwaighte spoke to The People newspaper:
"They're calling it the new summer anthem. The Neighbours connection will help, but we want people to like the song on its merits."
Expect a UK tour in June. Further info is available from Bassingthwaighte's UK website, here.
