Country star Loretta Lynn - a Grammy winner and recent collaborator with The White Stripes' Jack White - has undergone surgery.
The 71-year-old, currently enjoying a resurgence of popularity following her 2004 album Van Lear Rose, fell at her home on the weekend. She broke her shoulder.
Lynn underwent joint replacement surgery at a Nashville hospital last night. Her fall means that a series of dates in June and July will have to be rescheduled.
