Looney-Tune metallers Metallica - recent headliners of quiet-'til-Sunday-night rock fest Download - have provided voices for a new Cartoon Network series.
Singer James Hetfield and guitarist Kirk Hammett have been in the studio recording vocal tracks for Metalocaplypse, a kids' series* focusing on the adventures of rockin' cartoon band Dethlok. The fictional band are from Norway, and probably enjoy, y'know, burning and murdering. Hopefully.
Also on board are members of Arch Enemy and Nevermore, whoever they are. We're a little pissed that the show's producers didn't look to our man Raz for some input: he, after all, is the perfect human manifestation of The Metal. He also likes cartoons. Probably.
*Okay, so now we've learned it's not a kids show at all, but part of the network's Adult Swim block. So you 12-year-olds, don't be watching y'all. The show starts in the US on August 6.
