Westlife: No Hit and We'll Quit
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver April 20th, 2004
Westlife's Nicky Byrne has told tabloid newspaper the Daily Star that the band may call it quits if their next record isn't the hit they've become accustomed to.

Bryne said: "If the next record doesn't work then, yeah, it might be the end."

Tubby fifth of the group, Bryan McFadden, left the group earlier this year. Existing fourth Shane Filan admitted that the band's shelf life will run out soon.

Obviously this pessimistic attitude could just be a way of currying sympathy within the group's existing fanbase, thus ensuring the next record, the first without McFadden, performs well.

DiScuss: Do Westlife really get on your tits, or are they an act that you can just avoid, unlike, say, novelty pop hits and the bloody Black Eyed Peas. Could this announcement have anything to do with this morning's reports that Boyzone may be reforming?
