Section 8

Make Ends Meet

Label: Burning Heart Release Date: 06/11/2000

DiSvsMatt by Mat Hocking November 6th, 2000

And so another European hardcore band crawls out of the woodwork clutching a scorching album full of fervent energy, driving rhythms & passionate vocals. Section 8 carry on the legacy of Refused through well-written & catchy riffs injected with hot-blooded raging vocals. Also, like Refused S8 write about burning political & social issues, vented with as much integrity as when they were written. The last song (and incidentally the catchiest & most addictive on the album) ‘Only In America’ draws attention to the mass control that giant corporations have over the lifestyle much of mainstream society lives. “Because the market doesn’t care about the people/ the market doesn’t care about the environment/ the market doesn’t care about the third world/ the market doesn’t care about you.” A very impressive debut album.
