I've got to say that, as sceptical as I was about this all-female group, I'm utterly surprised at how good Fabulous Disaster actually are. As the second act to be signed to Fat's Pink & Black offshoot for all-female bands Fab Dis prove that they know exactly what their instruments are for. And man, what a voice!

Look, do what I've had to do and throw all your premonitions of what an all-girl band should sound like out the window coz these girls are something rather special! Rather than timidly playing vaguely up-beat, weakly played punk rock these 4 girls whack out interesting hard-hitting energetic tunes after another. While thinking through a load of all-girl groups to compare 'em to I found myself looking at heavier & faster male groups. They're pretty much like a female version of NOFX, albeit a little more bitchier (see 'Rich Bitches In Volvos').

Kick-ass songs like 'Insane Today', 'Down The Drain', 'Gia', the H2O-style melodic hardcore of 'My Static' and just about every track on display here are all-out classics, full of guts and played with conviction! These are strong women making powerfully-played punk rock as loud & confident as any testosterone-filled male outfit, as the rather scary bonus track shows.
