The opening line _"The September Sun burns through my window and I wonder if I'll ever see you again"_ sums up The Beat Collective; bitter sweet tales of love, served on a tangy bed of jangly guitars with a consommé of laid back beats which together taste of summers we can never recapture - however much we wish we could.

At first listen The Beat Collective don't rock your world, it's all very inoffensive, easy listening almost. By the third time you hear these songs though they just start to grow on you.

'September Sun' has a really warm feeling to it whilst managing to evoke sadness and empathy at the same time. Track two 'Perfect Stranger' is less encapsulating and more of a straight forward funky number.

The third track of this is CD is probably the best 'I'm leaving anyway' is another tale of modern love, with a big harmony laden chorus _"We can talk keep talking about it, we could talk all day. But I'm leaving anyway."_

Whilst The Beat Collective break no new ground musically there aren't many current artists that sound like them, although musically you can hear elements of Sheryl Crow and perhaps even **Paul Weller**.

Listening to The Beat Collective will never incite political change or cause a riot but there's just a chance they'll teach someone with more to say how to write a song.
