Bring Me The Horizon

This Is What The Edge Of Your Seat Was Made For

Label: Thirty Days Of Night Records Release Date: 31/01/2005

Fuggin' fade outs... I hate _them. If you can't finish a song properly, don't fugging bother to write it in the first place. Bring Me The Horizon, minus one circle-type star thing at the bottom of this review for chickening out of _slaying with the end of 'Rawwwrr!'. Fade outs are for pussies.

It's the only one of those yellow circles I'm gonna deduct though, 'cause the rest of this is a fuggin' riot. Why more hardcore-slash-punk bands can't play beyond the tiresome post-hardcore approach - sing/scream/sing/repeat - is a mystery, 'cause those that do are so_ much better than those apeing their US cousins. BMTH are in the same rough mould as fellow domestic upstarts The Nothing and Chariots - songs are tough, brutal, and more punk than Johnny Rotten undercrackers worn for five days solid. _'Who wants flowers when you're dead? Nobody?' is a stand-out title on a four-track EP full of real promise. Yeah, the title has you all Blood-Brothered before pressing play, but trust me: there's no little teapot dancing or high-pitched yelping here. It's all gut-splitting rage and enthusiastic guitar mangling from the word go.

Fuggin' quality then, pussy fade out aside. Buy it and bleed your ears dry.
