Step One. Inspect band name - 'LORRAINE'. Erm...sounds a bit, well, dull really.
Step Two. Examine title - 'THE LORRAINE EP'. You've really pushed the boat out in the imagination stakes there boys.
Step Three. Read press release. _Blah blah blah "Lorraine are a three piece originating from Norway" blah blah blah._ Not more garage rock, please?
Step Four. Insert CD. Refreshingly, not a trace of garage rock can be found anywhere on this EP.
Lead track 'Twenty Years Under Water' sounds like Morten Harket fronting Depeche Mode, while 'Sold Out' is Soulwax after a course of post-natal depressants subtly administered by Brian Molko's shrink.
Unfortunately 'Lovesong For An Ugly Girl' and 'Echoes' are Beloved-esque slabs of background music that would fit in well between Dido and Faithless at any dinner party, but hey, 2 out of 4 ain't that bad, right?
