Belle and Sebastian return with their latest three track offering, hell bent on irritating those who already despise their existance.

'Jonathan David' is B&S' standard blissful fey pop. Piano led, and gorgeously simple harmonies, allows this track to stand out as an effectively upbeat tune.

The wonderfully titled second track, 'Take Your Carriage Clock And Shove It' is even more stereotypically Belle and Sebastian. Quintessential soft, free-flowing vocals gracefully drift over a track of violin, viola and double bass. It's simple, it's peaceful and it's glowing.

Finally, an age old live track is finally recorded. 'The Loneliness Of A Middle Distance Runner' is again typical Stuart Murdoch. Not as upbeat as the lead track, but equalling its assertion, we conclude in a memorable and fitting manner.

Probably not going to attract any more fans, I don't suppose it bothers Belle and Sebastian. Their already heaving fanbase, those morbid pacifists, would have it no other way. For those who are already fans, this record, as if I need tell them, is essential.
