COOL LIKE THE FONZ!

drownedinsound.com would like to inform you of its next gig, for you all to attend before buggering off to Reading/Leeds/Glasgow(!).

The bands: Jetplane Landing, Thoria, I Own Kings

The date: Wed 21 Aug

The location: The Windmill, Brixton - which can be found on Blenheim Gardens, off Brixton Hill, about a 10-minute walk from Brixton tube station (cross over the road out of the station, walk left up Brixton Hill for a while and Blenheim Gardens is on the right. If you're lazy, there are plenty of busses).

The cost: 3 Earth Pounds and no bloody guestlist

The time: 8pm till whenever

JETPLANE LANDING
Doin' it DIY and now sold over 5,000 copies of their self-released debut album 'Zero For Conduct', Jetplane Landing sound like all your favourite American bands rolled into one... unless your favourite American bands are N-Sync, Crazy Town and Slipknot. This is their first London gig in four months and is a sorta warmup for the Carling Weekend. Enjoy.
ONSTAGE: 10.15pm

THORIA
Coventry-based, melodic grungy 3-piece also doin' it DIY and doin' it very well, much played videos on MTV2 and Kerrang TV and quite rightly so. Debut album now under their belts, doing a little UK tour and they're grrrreat.
ONSTAGE: 9.30pm

I OWN KINGS
Our new showbiz pals and London newcomers with only seven gigs to their name, but you wouldn't think it to watch them. Told us last night that they aspire to be "a band featuring five Freddie Mercurys", but they'd had a few beers by this point. A melting pot of influences across the board. A must-see band!
ONSTAGE: 8.45pm
