Even if you're not going to Iceland Airwaves - which kicks off later today - you can be thankful that the festival exists. Largely because, as with last year, the local English-language newspaper The Reykjavik Grapevine have put up a free 54-track compilation of (mostly) Icelandic artists playing the festival. You can download it from their website, either in Torrent form or straight download. The straight download is LARGE, by the way.

Another good thing. Good if you like free and great music, anyway! Is that one of our favourite record labels (also Iceland-based) are giving away a smaller, but still as great, compilation of their artists. It's from the Bedroom Community record label and can be downloaded below, or from their BandCamp. It features Ben Frost, Daníel Bjanarson, Puzzle Muteson and Valgeir Sigurðsson. Enjoy.
