The Dawn Parade's mid-tour messages
oappleby by Ollie Appleby August 3rd, 2002
With 3 weeks of their tour left and an EP out **right now*** The Dawn Parade, having survived highway robbery, have a few things to say...

"...us again... consider this a postcard from the edge of hygiene... we're over halfway through our first UK tour, and the country is being sweetness and light to us... first up, THANKYOU to everyone who's made the first four weeks the greatest, and to everyone who's come and stood down the front in an empty room, danced like no-one was watching, signed the mailing list and put up with me stinking of stale sweat for five minutes, and everyone who's lent us an ear... okay, enough of this geniality - there's an EP to hype and boy oh boy oh boy do we need the money..."

So, The band's 2nd release 'The Electric Fence Your Gentleness EP' (SUGARTOWN1) was released on July 22nd on Sugar Town/R*E*P*E*A*T Records, and you can download one track from the EP, 'Hailstone Lullabies' from www.thedawnparade.com right now

The last half of their summer tour is on right now, even after their van was harshly looted at Leeds on the 23rd... "The bastards put the driver's window through and took everything we had; clothes, cameras, drums, everything. They even took my pants. I mean, for fuck's sake; I wouldn't wish that on anybody."

One more thing, it will be The Dawn Parade member Ben's last gig on August 23rd. He has been with the band for four years, this is their message "it's going to be odd for everyone, Ben most of all. Anyone wishing to send him off in style can come along to the gig, in Bury, or leave a message on the guestbook on the website... me, Mole and Barney want to wish him all the best with whatever new musical endeavours Ben undertakes, and in his new life in the west country..."
