New London Venue Opens With Charity Gig
shadyadie by [redacted] August 20th, 2002
The Betsey Trotwood cellar venue (London) opens on Tue 3rd Sept with a charity gig entitled 'Off The Streets And Into Work'.

The gig is headlined by Jim Bob, who will be playing Jim's Super Stereoworld, James Robert Morrison (that's his proper name you know) and Carter USM songs on his "shitty acoustic guitar". This follows on from his sold-out, three-month residency at the Hope & Anchor in Islington.

Special guests are Jake Shillingford (Exileinside, ex-My Life Story frontman), Louis Elliot (Rialto), and Satellite (singer/songwriter Jonny Green). Special guest DJs will play upstairs. Tickets are £10 with money going to charity.

It says here in this press release thing that: "'Off The Streets and into Work' are the largest co-ordinated guidance, training and employment programme for the homeless in Europe. In their first four years they put over 800 homeless people into jobs and helped over 1,000 access vocational training or further education." So that's money well spent.

The charity has a website here: www.osw.org.uk

Address/ticket details are thus:

The Betsey Trotwood,
56 Farringdon Road, EC1
Nearest tube - Farringdon (Central Line)
Doors - 7.30pm

Tickets available in advance through Way Ahead, Stargreen and ticketweb.co.uk. Also available from The Water Rats venue in King's Cross between 5pm-11pm, Mon-Sat.
