The Frames: hard at work on album #5
shadyadie by [redacted] August 25th, 2002
Dublin band The Frames are working on their 5th album, the follow up to last year's 'For The Birds'.

Frontman Glen recently posted a message on the band's website detailling their recent activities. And here it is in full:

"well here we are.. into the second week of recording our fifth album.. it's up early and work all day on arrangements new ideas etc.. chocolate crossaint and a shower and we're off.. it feels like there's a change of mood.. a more positive aire in the whole thing.. it feels really good.. the music is flowing and we feel like a band.. it's great to see everyone doing their best and coming up with the best they can.. also it's great to be working with david odlum and craig ward again.. they are two valuable friends and getting straight into the work is easy with such familiar allies.. there's a whole bunch of songs.. i need to make a list.. and we're generally trying to record two a day.. just start out in the morning with listening to ideas and then like the a team, trying to arrange for the afternoon.. then recording it and moving on.. it's all been very smooth so far thank god.. then the late night is more for them quiet ideas that raise the head late and were having fun being a little drunk and a little tired, playing out some real moany spooky droney stuff all very enjoyable.. so there it is.. i just wanted to let you all know what we are at presently.. haven't been in here for a while.. hope you're all ok.. thanks for keeping it alive.. glen.."

The band will also be spending much of this year on a gruelling tour of the US and Australia, with a string of Irish shows at the end of the year including a show with our long-time faves TURN. That particular date is:

Nov 10: BELFAST, Elmwood Hall, Belfast Festival

Anyone know how much a flight from London to Belfast costs?
