DiS Xmas Alldayer Announced (Sun Dec 7th)
shadyadie by [redacted] November 30th, 2003
It's the time of year where you eat a turkey dinner, then the next day you have turkey sandwiches, then a turkey curry - yes, Xmas! Hoorah! So not happy with just doing one Xmas gig in the capital, we decided to do two (well, er, three if you count the DiScore launch!).

The Date: Sun 7th December 2003
The Venue: The Windmill, 22 Blenheim Gardens, SW2. Tel 020 8671 0700. Map
The Time: 5pm - midnight
The Cost: £4
The Bands: Four Day Hombre, Sennen, Cars As Weapons, TAT, Paper Cuts, Origin Of Pursuit
The Genre: Very much a fest of RAWK with some lovely lovely indie schmindie
The Special Guests: a FREE BBQ! yummy

FOUR DAY HOMBRE have been compared to Elbow, Simon and Garfunkel being mugged by Mogwai (or vice versa). Their debut single released in July on Crystal Songs sold out, and their second single is mooted for release in early 2004. We've been raving about them for the last couple of years, so check 'em out.

SENNEN are a great new band from Norwich, along the lines of the droning sounds of Six By Seven with classic indiepop songwriting thrown in. This will only be their second London gig.

CARS AS WEAPONS are Southenders who have the honour of being the first British band to be produced by Rival Schools/Quicksand main man, Walter Schriefels, with the aim of releasing their debut LP on Surrey-based Bravestar Records. Think emo, but with the emphasis on tunes, rather than crying about girls.

TAT is a band fronted by 18-year-old Rancid and Offspring fan, Tatiana DeMaria. After recording her first demo with the Ruts' drummer and guitarist, and producer Mark Wallis, she took time out to do her A-levels, and is now playing her first gigs. Not to be missed.

PAPER CUTS have a lunatic frontman who commands an arsenal of distorted guitar and bass through sea of pounding drums. Pop songs played fast and loud, reminiscent of The Buzzcocks meeting Moving Units by way of Refused and ATD-I. With a demo allready featured on Smalltown America's PSB#1 compilation and three gigs under their belt, they are already building a reputation for being one of the loudest and most energetic live bands around.

ORIGIN OF PURSUIT are a cross between Jeff Buckley and Dillinger Escape Plan, so we've been told. Good lord! I can hardly bloody wait!

See you there? Good.
